Cook salmon fillets in the air fryer for a quick meal with crispy skin and a bright lemon dill flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. This helps achieve crispiness.
  2. Brush the salmon fillets lightly with olive oil.
  3. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side down if using skin-on. Do not overcrowd the basket.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  7. While the salmon cooks, mix the softened butter, chopped dill, and lemon juice in a small bowl to create the compound butter.
  8. Remove the cooked salmon from the air fryer.
  9. Top each fillet immediately with half of the lemon dill butter mixture. Serve right away.

Notes

  • For skin-on salmon, place it skin-side down first and cook for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for 1-2 more minutes if you prefer the skin extra crispy.
  • If your fillets are very thick (over 1.5 inches), reduce the temperature to 380°F (195°C) and increase the cooking time slightly.
  • You can use frozen salmon, but thaw it completely first for even cooking.
