Prepare this easy, sweet pull-apart casserole featuring warm apples and a gooey topping. It is simple to assemble for breakfast or dessert.

  • 1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place the quartered biscuit pieces evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until coated.
  4. Scatter the seasoned apples over the layer of biscuits.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup.
  6. Pour the butter and syrup mixture evenly over the apples and biscuits.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed, golden brown, and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples.
  • You can prepare the apple mixture the night before and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Serve plain or top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of cream cheese glaze.
