You can make this tender, flaky salmon with a smoky, buttery glaze at home quickly. This easy baked recipe delivers restaurant-style flavor perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispier edges. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. This is your glaze.
  4. In a separate small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Brush about half of the prepared glaze mixture evenly over the seasoned salmon fillets.
  6. Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is mostly cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the fillets. Return the salmon to the oven and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until the glaze is slightly caramelized and the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before baking.
  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, increase the honey by one teaspoon.
  • This salmon pairs well with mashed potatoes or roasted asparagus for a complete meal.
