Make easy, juicy BBQ chicken sliders baked in the oven using Hawaiian rolls and melted cheese. This recipe is great for parties or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gouda cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until the chicken is fully coated.
  3. Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom layer of rolls.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Gouda cheese over the chicken mixture.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter. Brush the melted butter evenly over the top of the rolls.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops of the rolls are lightly golden brown.
  10. Slice the sliders apart and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 4 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon over the cheese before placing the top rolls on.
  • If you prefer a tangier flavor, substitute half of the BBQ sauce with honey mustard.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for faster preparation.
