- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet into 4 equal squares.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
- Arrange the apple slices neatly over the center of each pastry square, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the apples.
- Lightly brush the pastry borders with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed and the apples are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can dust the finished squares with powdered sugar for extra sweetness if desired.
- Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for the best texture after baking.
