Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (16 ounces) frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Pour the beef mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Arrange the frozen tater tots evenly over the top of the beef mixture.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the casserole is bubbly.
  8. Let it stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom soup if preferred.
  • Add your favorite seasonings like garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier casserole, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
