Make this simple, creamy cold clam dip using cream cheese and minced clams. It is a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for parties or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 (6.5 ounce) can minced clams, drained well
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sour cream and mayonnaise to the bowl. Beat with an electric mixer or mix well by hand until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Stir in the drained minced clams, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the clam dip for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.
  5. Before serving, transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh chives, if using.
  6. Serve cold with crackers, vegetable sticks, or potato chips.

Notes

  • Drain the canned clams thoroughly; excess liquid will make your dip watery.
  • For a tangier flavor, substitute plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream.
  • You can prepare this dip up to 24 hours in advance.
