Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup, plus more for glaze
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
Spread additional ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf to create a glaze.
Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra moisture, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil or butter to the meatloaf mixture.
Feel free to add your favorite herbs or spices, such as garlic powder, dried parsley, or thyme.
If you prefer a crispier glaze, you can broil the meatloaf for the last 5 minutes of cooking, watching it closely to prevent burning.
