A comforting and classic tuna noodle casserole recipe, perfect for a family meal. This dish combines tender egg noodles, savory tuna, and a creamy sauce, all topped with golden cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk. Add drained tuna and half of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom soup.
  • Add a splash of lemon juice to the tuna mixture for brightness.
  • Top with breadcrumbs for added texture.
