Ingredients
Scale
1 (8-10 pound) fully cooked bone-in ham
1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Score the fat layer in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, and cloves.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
Brush about half of the glaze over the ham.
Bake the ham for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham (avoiding the bone) registers 140°F (60°C).
Brush the remaining glaze over the ham during the last 30 minutes of baking.
If the glaze starts to brown too quickly, tent the ham loosely with aluminum foil.
Once the ham reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving and serving.
Notes
You can substitute fresh cranberries for the cranberry sauce by simmering them with orange juice and sugar until they burst and thicken.
For a deeper flavor, stud the ham with whole cloves before glazing.
Ensure your ham is fully cooked before starting. This recipe is for glazing and heating.
