Make a simple, velvety garlic sauce in under 15 minutes. This versatile condiment works well as a dip for fries, a topping for chicken, or a drizzle for steak.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper into a small bowl.
  2. Let this mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the garlic flavor to infuse the liquids.
  3. Add the mayonnaise to the bowl.
  4. Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust salt or lemon juice as needed.
  6. Cover the sauce and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • For a thinner sauce, add 1 teaspoon of cold water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  • If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor without raw garlic bite, roast the garlic cloves before mincing and adding them.
  • This sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
