You will prepare a fantastic Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry. This recipe brings restaurant-quality flavor right to your home, combining tender chicken, crisp broccoli, and a rich, savory garlic butter sauce. It is quick to make and perfect served over rice or pasta for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or pasta, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the cut chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the broccoli florets to the same skillet. If the pan seems dry, add one tablespoon of butter. Stir-fry the broccoli for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant; do not let it burn.
  5. Stir in the Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, if using.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce cook for 2 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.
  8. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
  9. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the chicken and broccoli thoroughly in the garlic butter sauce.
  10. Serve immediately over your choice of hot rice or pasta.

Notes

  • Chef Tariq suggests using chicken thighs for extra moisture if you prefer.
  • Amara recommends tossing the broccoli with a tiny bit of cornstarch before stir-frying for an extra crisp exterior.
  • If you want a thinner sauce, add a splash more chicken broth at the end.
  • Leo likes adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice right before serving to brighten the flavor.
