Make these Ultimate Easy Pepperoni & Mozzarella Pizza Pinwheels using refrigerated crescent roll dough for a quick, cheesy snack. They are perfect for parties, game days, or a fun family treat. You will love how simple these turn out.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices (or chopped regular pepperoni)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pinch the seams together to create one large rectangle.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border (about 1/2 inch) on one long edge uncovered.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  5. Distribute the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
  6. Starting from the long edge opposite the uncovered border, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  7. Use a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss to slice the log into 12 uniform pinwheels, about 3/4 inch thick.
  8. Place the pinwheels cut-side up onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  9. If desired, brush the tops lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute puff pastry for crescent rolls, adjusting the baking time as needed.
  • For extra flavor, mix a pinch of garlic powder into the pizza sauce before spreading.
  • If you prefer, use Parmesan cheese mixed with the mozzarella for a sharper taste.
  • These pinwheels freeze well; bake them fully, let cool, then freeze in an airtight container. Reheat in the oven to crisp them up.
