Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • Optional Garnish: Everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the chopped smoked salmon, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. If using, add the chopped capers.
  4. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon to mix all ingredients until completely smooth and well combined. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if needed; you may add a small pinch of salt if your salmon is not very salty.
  6. Transfer the smoked salmon dip to a serving bowl.
  7. Chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to fully meld.
  8. Before serving, garnish the top with a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, if desired.

Notes

  • For the best texture, ensure your cream cheese is truly at room temperature before mixing.
  • You can substitute half the dill with fresh chives for a different herbal note.
  • This dip tastes even better when made a few hours ahead of time.
  • If you prefer a lower-fat option, you can substitute half the cream cheese with Greek yogurt, but the texture will be slightly less rich.
