Instructions
To heat-treat flour: Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until it reaches 165°F (74°C). Let it cool completely.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the milk, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
Gradually add the cooled, heat-treated flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
