Enjoy a refreshing Frozen Watermelon Margarita, perfect for entertaining adults on warm evenings. This slushy cocktail offers a fun, fruity twist on a classic, blending sweet watermelon with a tequila kick for lively gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon, frozen
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup lime juice, fresh
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar or simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (if needed to thicken)
  • Salt or sugar for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Watermelon wedges for garnish (optional)
  • Lime slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If rimming glasses, prepare them by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt or sugar. Set aside.
  2. Combine the frozen watermelon, tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (if using) in a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and slushy. If the mixture is too thin, add a few ice cubes and blend again until it reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Pour the margarita into the prepared glasses.
  5. Garnish with watermelon wedges and lime slices, if desired.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing drink!

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and orange liqueur and increase the watermelon or add more lime juice.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less agave nectar based on your preference and the sweetness of the watermelon.
  • Ensure your watermelon is frozen solid for the best slushy texture.
