Bake tender, boneless chicken breasts smothered in a creamy, flavorful garlic parmesan sauce for a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using breadcrumbs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth. This creates your creamy garlic chicken sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure they are well coated.
  5. If you want a crispy topping, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter and sprinkle over the sauce.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Let the cheesy garlic parmesan chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake option, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • This recipe works well for family friendly chicken dinners and makes great leftovers.
  • You can add a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top after baking for color.
