Enjoy a taste of summer with this Golden Peach Crisp, a simple dessert that perfectly captures the sweet juiciness of fresh peaches under a buttery, crunchy topping. It’s an easy way to satisfy those nostalgic cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 6 cups sliced ripe peaches (about 2 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, gently toss the sliced peaches with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup of flour. Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the crumb topping over the peaches in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  7. Let the crisp cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • If your peaches aren’t very sweet, you can add an extra tablespoon of sugar to the peach mixture.
  • For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the crisp topping.
