Enjoy this easy Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe, perfect for a quick and delicious weeknight meal. It’s sticky, sweet, and savory, ready in under 30 minutes using either your skillet or oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Optional: sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat if pan-searing.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. If baking, place the salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. If pan-searing, place the salmon skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  5. While the salmon cooks, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  6. If baking, brush half of the glaze over the salmon. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. If pan-searing, flip the salmon and brush the top with half of the glaze. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 4-5 minutes, basting with the remaining glaze, until cooked through.
  8. For both methods, if desired, briefly broil the salmon for 1-2 minutes to get a more caramelized glaze, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier glaze, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey mixture.
  • Ensure your garlic is finely minced for the best flavor distribution.
  • Don’t overcook the salmon; it should be moist and flaky.
