Create the ultimate no-bake Oreo Dirt Cake. This recipe delivers a rich, creamy, and wonderfully nostalgic dessert layered with crushed Oreos and sweet pudding. It is incredibly simple to assemble and always a crowd-pleaser for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 container (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 packages (3.9 ounces each) instant vanilla or chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 42 Oreo cookies, crushed (about 1 full package)

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter together in a large bowl until smooth.
  2. Gradually beat in the confectioners’ sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until just combined. Set this mixture aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and the cold milk until thickened, about two minutes.
  5. Gently fold the prepared pudding into the cream cheese mixture until streaks disappear. Do not overmix.
  6. Crush the Oreo cookies until they resemble fine dirt. Reserve about 1 cup of the crushed cookies for topping.
  7. In a large trifle dish or individual serving cups, begin layering the dessert. Start with a layer of the crushed Oreos (not the reserved topping).
  8. Top the cookie layer with half of the cream cheese/pudding mixture.
  9. Add another layer of crushed Oreos.
  10. Top with the remaining cream cheese/pudding mixture.
  11. Finish with the remaining reserved crushed Oreos on top to mimic dirt.
  12. Refrigerate for at least four hours, or until firm, before serving.

Notes

  • Chef Tariq suggests using a food processor for the quickest cookie crushing.
  • Amara recommends chilling the dessert overnight for the best flavor melding.
  • Leo likes to use half chocolate and half vanilla pudding for a complex flavor.
  • For individual servings, use small plastic cups or mason jars.
