- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Combine the rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, sweetener (if using), and salt in a jar or container with a lid.
- Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
- In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk.
- Serve cold directly from the jar. Add your favorite toppings before eating.
Notes
- For a thicker texture, increase the chia seeds to 1.5 tablespoons.
- For a creamier result, use full-fat milk or a thicker non-dairy milk like oat or soy milk.
- You can prepare a batch of 5 jars on Sunday for easy weekday breakfasts.
