This creamy Dill Pickle Pasta Salad brings a tangy, zesty punch to your table. It is perfect for summer BBQs, picnics, or as a bright side dish for any meal. You will love the familiar comfort of pasta salad mixed with the sharp, delicious flavor of dill pickles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound rotini or elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups chopped dill pickles
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, pickle juice, yellow mustard, celery salt, and black pepper until smooth. This is your dressing base.
  3. Add the cooled pasta, chopped dill pickles, red onion, and celery to the dressing.
  4. Gently fold all ingredients together until the pasta is evenly coated.
  5. Stir in the fresh chopped dill last.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. Taste before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • Chef Tariq suggests using the brine from the pickle jar to boost the tangy flavor further.
  • For a richer taste, substitute half the mayonnaise with a creamy ranch dressing.
  • Prepare this salad a day ahead; it tastes even better the next day.
