Create a festive and flavorful Pomegranate Rosemary Sangria perfect for your next holiday gathering. This recipe balances tart pomegranate, fragrant rosemary, and bright citrus with wine for a refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, plus more for garnish
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh pomegranate arils (seeds)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, pomegranate juice, brandy, orange juice, lime juice, and sugar.
  2. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add the rosemary sprig and the sliced orange to the pitcher.
  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, remove the rosemary sprig.
  6. Fill glasses with ice. Pour the sangria over the ice.
  7. Garnish each serving with a few fresh pomegranate arils and a small rosemary sprig.

Notes

  • You can substitute white wine for red wine if you prefer a lighter version.
  • Taste the mixture before chilling; add a little more sugar if your fruit is very tart.
  • Do not add the pomegranate arils until just before serving to keep them from sinking or becoming mushy.
