Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
12 small corn or flour tortillas
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon lime juice (for crema)
1/4 teaspoon salt (for crema)
1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
Instructions
In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the 1/4 cup lime juice and 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro with the shrimp. Set aside.
Prepare the crema: Combine the avocado, Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small food processor or blender. Blend until completely smooth. Add a teaspoon of water if needed to reach a drizzly consistency.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions (usually a quick warm in a dry skillet or microwave).
Assemble the tacos: Place a portion of shrimp onto each warm tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage and drizzle generously with the avocado crema.
Notes
For extra spice, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the shrimp seasoning mix.
If you do not have Greek yogurt, you can substitute sour cream for the crema base.
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor in both the shrimp and the crema.
