- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the cooked rice, garlic, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Spoon the beef and rice mixture evenly into the prepared bell peppers.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish. Pour about 1/2 inch of water into the bottom of the dish.
- Cover the baking dish with foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.
- Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking if you prefer a slightly browned topping.
- Serve hot.

- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
- Add other vegetables like corn or peas to the filling for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Top with shredded cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking for a cheesy finish.
