Ingredients
Scale
1 (13.5 oz) can full-fat coconut milk
1 (15 oz) can cream of coconut (like Coco Lopez)
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup white rum (adjust to your taste)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of ground cloves
Instructions
Combine the coconut milk, cream of coconut, evaporated milk, and condensed milk in a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
Add the rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and cloves to the blender. Pulse briefly to combine the spices. Do not over-blend once the rum is added.
Pour the mixture into an airtight glass bottle or pitcher.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to chill completely.
Shake well before serving, as separation may occur. Serve cold over ice.
Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
Notes
Chef Tariq recommends starting with 1 cup of rum and tasting; adjust upward if you prefer a stronger drink.
For a thicker texture, slightly reduce the amount of evaporated milk.
This drink tastes better the next day after the spices have fully infused.
Store leftover Coquito in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
