Create fun and spooky mummy jalapeno poppers for your Halloween party. These easy-to-make appetizers are sure to be a hit with guests of all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large jalapeno peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Small edible candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Wear gloves to avoid irritation.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture evenly into the hollowed-out jalapeno halves.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  6. Cut each triangle into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.
  7. Wrap the strips of dough around the stuffed jalapeno halves to resemble mummy bandages, leaving a small opening for the eyes.
  8. Place the wrapped jalapenos on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the dough with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Once the poppers have cooled slightly, press two edible candy eyes into the dough to complete the mummy look.

Notes

  • For a spicier popper, leave some of the seeds in the jalapenos.
  • If you don’t have edible candy eyes, you can use small dots of black food coloring or small pieces of black olive.
  • These poppers are best served warm.
